A clean and inexpensive solution for Paris

Myself and my husband stayed in the Hotel Armstrong for 4 nights at the beginning of August 2009.  I don’t think you could get a better reception in more expensive hotels: the staff were just so kind and helpful and this welcome made the difference.  They also speak incredibly good English and were more than willing to recommend restaurants and organise our shuttle back to the airport.
The location could have been a bit more central: the metro Porte de Montreuil which is by the hotel will take you to the places you will want to see but it will take you about 30 minutes.  We went to Disney and for this the hotel is well located: the train service which goes directly into the parks is a few metro stops away and we got our tickets at the front desk of the hotel at no extra cost.  If you go to Disney use the fast pass which will reduce the time you have to queue: it was a hot day and the park was very crowded but it was a great experience.
The room in the hotel was kept very clean and we had new towels every day (and soaps and shower gel to stock for the next hotel!).  It was quiet and we didn’t have any problems with street noise.
The breakfast was excellent: a typical European buffet with fresh croissants.  There are also many restaurants nearby.
